I'm looking to ditch the bar mount speedo on my FXD in favor of a dashed tank. So far, I've not found an aftermarket tank that specifies my bike.
Does anyone know of an aftermarket supplier with a compatable dashed tank, or a current HD dashed tank that would swap over to the 05 Superglide with out modification?

The only one that comes to mind stock or aftermarket with the least modifactions would be the lowrider tank & dash.

My understanding is that the frames mount was changed in 04 and according to the dealerdship, even the wide glide or lowriders tank wouldn't fit. It was suggested that I might could go with the Dakota Digital bar unit or either the digital speedo/tach mirrors to the tune of appx 600 to 800 smackers sans installation fees.

would the dakota affect the electronics on the bike , Security system light, trips meters etc.?

It's not susposed to. The 6000 series has most of the same idiot light options as the stock HD speedo plus you gain a tach without a second gage housing.
