I have an '01 hugger, being barely 5' tall, i wanted one i could plant feet on ground with,it's my 1st and I love it, I named my bike "Ruby"...
I like the night trains but would change to pull back handlebars.
I like the dynas too.
Wondering what you think about a bigger bike for a smaller gal who is barely 5'tall.
I ride 2 miles of sand and rocks to get to pavement from the house.

Hi forestdweller, one bike I WOULDN'T recommend for a long sandy road would be the dyna wide glide. The 21" front wheel gets a little shaky in sand and gravel. Try to find something with fatter tires.

wildman has an '87 1100cc sporty,chain drive
..we hope to sell this place soon, tired of fighting the town about the road, they graded and raked it again today, bringing up more rocks and boulders and sand deeper.
moving to warmer winters, better roads as soon as we sell.
Then i wouldn't have to worry about riding any bike on sand and rock road..

I have a 2002 Ultra that I road 2 miles on a dirt road to get to and from the house for about 2 years until I moved.

I put a 1/1/2" lowering kit in the rear so I'd sit flat footed when stopped (I'm 5'7"). The lowering kit also made the bike handle better as it lowered the center of gravity.
