Riding to Sturgis from SE Texas and I'm looking for some in helmet (shorty) speakers, earphone, headphones...

I don't want noise canceling earbuds as I want to be able to hear traffic noise etc. Have had difficulty finding something that is loud enough to be heard over the bike and wind and not noise canceling.

Please don't make this a discussion about the hazards of listening to music while riding. If you use an MP3 player with some type of plug in device let me know what works for you.

I just ordered some flat speakers that are designed to for use on Giro snow board/ski helmets but am not holding out much hope that they will be loud enough.

Good luck and happy riding on your upcoming trip to Sturgis. I have never owned an mp3 and imagine the music would be distracting for me. It seems if you crank it up loud enough to hear then you're going to be too loud to hear your bike.

I use a set of cheap panasonic headphones for listening to the audio baseball games on the computer and would imagine that would be all you would need for your mp3. $5.00 at Frys electronics.

I've got a pair and use them when I mow my yard. They drown out the volume on the mower enough where I can use a much lower volume on the earbuds, but I'm also aware of what's going on around me. I like 'em.

you can get a chatter box from you local bike shop. they are a little on the pricey side but you can use them as a two way radio if you are with some one else who has one and you can plug in an mp3 player to it. I believe you can listen to local radio to but I am not sure on that one!!

I HAVE USED FOAM EAR PLUGS THAT I DRILLED OUT, THEN USED A PRODUCT FROM RADIO SHACK THAT ALLOWS YOU TO SLIP A POST STYLE EAR PHONE THROUGH THE PLUG. I USED IT TO STURGIS LAST YEAR AND IT WORKED GREAT.
