View Full Version : Interested in buying a bike Cinder 05-11-2007, 05:05 PM The gas prices are killing me, and I love wind. This will be my first bike purchase and my budget is really tight. I was wondering if anybody could give me any advice on what is good (and cost effective) to look for while I'm perusing craigslist? I'm terrible at buying stuff, and if I'm not careful I'll end up buying a left shoe without laces and a rusty teakettle for 1000 dollars. The vast majority of cruisers are better cared for as they're not ridden as hard and not laid down half as much as a hottrodder that got a sport bike, laid it down a few times and then decided enough was enough. Make sure you check the sprockets when buying. It's the tell all of how a bike has been cared for and ridden. And I think that you don't have to worry about gas price because most of the Suzuki sport bikes cost not much gas. Enough power to keep up with traffic, but not enough for a noob to loose control to easily. Naked as any drops the damage will be minimal.
