Hi yall, hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving!
Mine was great!
My hubby is a mechanic, and he works on bikes also.
I started riding my own bike this past spring. Its a yamaha. hubbys is a 67 flh rigid with stroked 108.
anyway..my dream bike is 76 electra glide or 78 electra glide.
i love those bikes. i always have.
So, i always said id ride my yammy till i got my dream bike.
Well a couple of months ago, i started saying, that i would just get me a harley of some kind, sportster or something and then if i ran across my dream bike, then get it. well billy (hubby) said, to hold out, not to get something that i dont really want, to not give up on the electraglide.
well..make this long story short...this lady we know, she called and wanted new chrome rocker boxes on her bike, repainted and the electrical system rewired. She has a 78 electra glide.
I take billy over there to pick up the bike, he leaves, i hang around and talk a bit. she tells me when i get home to drive her bike around and see if i like the feel of it and all. she said "i hate for you to get the bike of your dreams you have your heart set on and not like the way it handles, or it doesnt hold up to your expectations"...well hell, i rushed home then.
This bike is pearl white, chromed out, its just awesome.
we live in the country so theres lots of back roads. when i got on the road, MY GOD! i was shaking at first, cause i was scared id drop it, but then, this power came over me i cant explain and i let her rip. man i was gone. i drove it about an hour..hooting and hollering the whole time! I have never felt such a wonderful feeling from a bike! it was purely awesome!
when i got home, i told billy i WILL have one by this spring!
I have driven billys, not far, but i have driven it, too much for me.
I have driven sportsters
i have driven yammys and hondas
None of those, nothing compared to me driving my dream bike! it was pure joy! i have to have one now. I HAVE TO! man it was awesome! it handled great, rode smooth, and the damn rumble, and the power. hell i dont wanna ever ride my yammy again..haha.
