I want to build a custom with a 38 degree rake and 4 inch strech in the down tubes, does anyone know what length the forks would need to be over-length to get the trail to 4 inches. have been searching web but having a hard time finding the information. havent been able to find any local either

There was a site off of chopperdaves.com that had a program you could use to calculate everything. It was in chopperdaves 'links' section. I'll check it out and see if I can remember where it was.....damn it was helpful though.
Really, it's all geometry though.....email me (mongo@bikerforums.org) your email and I'll send you a drawing of how to figure it out....kinda hard to explain in words. It comes down to drawing the plans correctly and I can show you a diagram.
I'll keep checking for that site though....cause you could do everything right there and it gaves you length and dimensions...it was pretty slick.

and still be in Wyoming. :)
Evanston, Wy in the very-very South West corner.
It is a long hard ride to make Sturgis in one day, yet too close to spend two days in getting there.
We always get in a big hurry to be there, so we ride like hell.
Always hate to leave so we stay until the last minute and have to ride like hell to get home. :(

Have a friend that lives in Sturgis we stay with.
Hope to make enough friends here at Biker Forums that we can all get together sometime and enjoy some cold ones at the Rally.
This year should be a monster rally -- not really sure if that is cool or not??
But we will be there :D

There is an article in the latest edition of Hot Bike about this. Don't know if it will help, but maybe check it out.
