Hey FBR, maybe you can post the directions in the Tech area. I'm sure more than one of us could use the "training".

Thanks man!

When I get a chance I will post a step by step instructional on installing the chain tensioner, the instructions that come with it are kinda vague, so maybe my tips will help you if you decide to install one.......well it's a beautiful day here in Texas, so me and my son are going for a ride.......later.....

I installed a hydraulic primary chain tensioner on my 89 FXR and discovered the previous owner had put in a springloaded tensioner. My source of advice is a buddy who I consider to be a genious. He is a machinist, mechanic, rider who has his own shop with every tool you can imagine and some he's built. He told me the hydraulic is the one you want because a spring can lose tension. There is a constant source of primary lube oil present so the tensioner is always constantly repumping itself up. I ordered the Hayden from J&P Cycle and as always service was prompt and efficient. Installation instructions included were enough to get the job done, just look at everything closely , use common sense, clean gasket areas thoroughly, don't overtorque allen bolts, measure primary lube carefully and don't get any shit on your wifes kitchen floor. ( She holds the keys to the family chastity belt) Live in Mexico now, kinda miss that overnight parts delivery from J&P. Pain in the ass now, duty, shipping ,Mexican customs etc. Have had no probs with the Hayden , smooth quiet shifting. Adios Motherfu*kers!!!
