I recently stumbled across this forum and I think its great. I'm the proud owner of an '02 Road King Classic. I upgraded from a 1200 Sportster in Nov. and bought the RK from a friend who says he felt like a geezer on it ???(bought a Deuce instead) The bike has V&H slip-ons, and was re-mapped by the dealer. I'd like to install a K&N air filter, and hear that I'd have to have the EFI re-mapped again. Will the change in air flow be that much as to require this? If so, does anyone know what HD dealers charge for this?

Where I'm at, something like that usually costs $300 Cdn, so in the neighborhood of $250 US. Perhaps your dealer will be nicer and only charge you for the time. Best of luck.

Don't have a clue...that's why I like carbs....jets & needles are cheap, and easy to change. Call around, and not just to Harley dealers...call some Indy shops, they do remaps too, probably for a lot less.

Welcome Junkyard. Not sure I can answer your question but when I talked to my service rep at the local dealer he seemed to know all the answers and was willing to share his knowledge.
Good Luck
