Motorcyclist crashes on SR 520 By BRAD WONG P-I REPORTER A 22-year-old Spanaway man suffered life-threatening injuries Friday morning after he crashed his motorcycle on state Route 520, Washington State Patrol Trooper Jeff Merrill said. Investigators believe high speed and alcohol contributed to the accident, which occurred around 2:15 a.m., he said. Three motorcyclists were westbound near 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill, when the Spanaway man hit a barrier, became airborne and hit a highway sign. Medics took the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. His 2006 Yamaha was destroyed. The accident closed highway lanes until shortly before 6 a.m. State troopers are investigating the case. P-I reporter Brad Wong can be reached at 206-448-8137 or bradwong@seattlepi.com.
