Construction is ready to begin
 

Well not really. I have the plans for the new garage and I'm getting the 'first stage' of lumber this weekend (hopefully) and laying out the foundation.

Since this construction is going to be my main workshop I'll take pics of the progress. Should be fun over the next month or so in between work, bad weather and nightfall....I hope to have this up and ready for my next bike to roll in.

Basics:

The shed (for zoning reasons) is 12 x 16 x 16 with plenty of storage and head room. It will have a wide double door opening and side single door opening and one window. I will be wiring the shed to accomodate the welder, about two outlets and a couple lights. In addition, and while I have the pvc pipe open...I'll be throwing a phone out that way and also be running cable and cat5. This garage may eventually be the house for the bikerforums server/computer and I know I"ll be hooking up a camera for monitoring and also some webcamming....so all you freaks can watch me work on stuff (don't know why you'd want to though).

Wondering if there are any toys that I'm missing out on? Anybody have any ideas?????

Yeah, a request, please make sure you are wearing pants when the webcam is on. :D

Actaually, a recommendation, do a rollup door on the front, like a garage door. They are handy as hell, and out of the way when open. Planning on using one on my shed after the house is built. Once you are complete, feel free to run out here to sunny ole Iowa and do all the work you want on the new house too!!!

I was thinking of a roll up, but I'd have to see what kind of changes to the plan and how much it would cost to put one of them on. Appearance is also a big factor, since I'm trying to play nice with the neighbors....but it's a good suggestion. Those things are handy as hell and very secure.

Sounds like ya have all the bases covered Mongo...but in respect to the roll-up...ya may want to consider the "Warnth-Factor". I know most of the roll-ups allow cold to enter. I also am aware that some are geared to prevent that...so cost may be a factor here as well. And this being a very cold winter, it is something to consider...:confused:

LOL....you don't want to see me in any kilts man! I'd be afraid I'd sit down facing that webcam I'll be putting up....LOL.

You know, you could get one of those Kilts and take a screen shot of you in it and make it a splash page for the forums. Just the sheer comedy of that might actually down the server from the traffic!! LOL!
