Wheel better

I'm feel *wheel* better now. Here's a short explanation. Although I didn't bring it up when it happened....mostly out of shame and embarassment....most of that has worn off and I feel the need to share a story.

In mid August I was working at my house on a brick wall. Some of it had to be broken down so I grabbed my trusty sledge hammer. Since I am a guy, and of course I wanted to knock the shit out of that damn wall I grabbed the 15lb sledge and went at it. One of the best stress relievers in the world is throwing around a sledgehammer, especially when you get to demo something. I keep on swinging and hitting the wall when one little piece is left. I adjusted by getting into a more golf like stance and take a swing at the wall. Here's where it gets fun...I barely hit the piece of wall and strike myself right on the foot...yeah....full swing right onto myself.

Needless to say, I knew it was broken right away and went to the hospital. Well now, after about 8 weeks away from one of the brightest moments in my life (getting 3rd degree burns at HD's 100th anniv. is up there too) it's finally almost back to normal.

I still have some swelling, but doc said it might take 8 months for that to return to normal as well as the numb feeling in my foot. Oh well, just thought I'd share.

Xaxer smirks in amusement,
Well I am Glad you are getting better!
Last Nov I had some oil on the stove and it caught on fire.
Instead of just covering it with a lid I tried to move it and then spilled it onto
my hand 2nd and 3rd degree burns there, dropping it on the floor
and spreading the fire thoughout the Kitchen.
To this day my 7 year old will tell anyone who will listen about
"How Daddy Burned down the Kitchen!"
so just know you are not alone !

Ahhh yes I remember it well. That and the poison ivy incident are the best man, but this one comes rather close.

With the burns there were perks though....if you remember that. I think everybody wished they were burned as bad as I was that night. The poison ivy required some explaining to the wife.

Oh, do I remember that my good friend. It was a night not to be forgotten. We should do that again sometime, just without the burning..... :)
