Hello

How's everybody doing? I'm Justin, I'm an ex-dirtbike rider who is about it take the streetbike step. :)

I just finished my MSF course and have started looking for a nice 600 bike. I know most ppl say start with something less powerfull but I've riden many bikes and I feel comfortable with a 600cc bike and yes I do have self control. My only issue is to get a nice used bike or go ahead and get a new R6. Opinions?

Thanks and it's nice to be here.

Welcome to the boards Justin - and nice job taking the MSF course. I'm a graduate of that course...hell I liked it so much when I buddy of mine wanted to take it I took it for the 2nd time. Once you get some wheels under your ass and some road time, you should think about going back for the advanced course....that's a good time.

Anyway, you got a good strategy there. Find yourself a good 600 and ride that until you feel real comfortable. Welcome aboard that, hope you frequent the boards...and get ready to have a fun summer.

ooooo ya, a new R6. Those are sweet and making life very difficult for the sixxer this year in AMA Supersport racing. There's some good deals out there on bikes, looking used first makes sense. The R6 is such a great bike you may never outgrow it. I've had liter-class sportbikes and came back to 600's. They are the perfect sportbike in my opinion. Who needs more than 125 crank hp?...not me that's for sure.
Welcome to the forum. Let us know what you end up purchasing.

Nice choice on th R6. I'm a Suzuki man myself, had quite a few of them before I got the Harley, but in the 600 class the R6 is hard to beat. You thinking about the black with the red flames? That's one bad ass bike for sure. Nice work on the MSF course, I should probably do that one day. I started out with a 600, and as long as you keep your whits about you, you'll be fine. Respect the machine, and keep the stuntin to the pro's!

Best of luck, and welcome from the phat one.
