Intercom systems

Hello my name is Jim and I ride a Harley-Davidson FLHT Standard. I am intersted in buying either a bike to bike intercom system or a system with a CB Radio. I have looked at the Brady system and the AUTOCOM sytems.Does any one have any sugestions or past history with any brands they like. I would like to talk with my passenger and bike to bike. Thanks Jim Scabet

Never had an intercom system before but I did rig something up like it once. I was riding with my cousin and my dad was driving his vehicle behind us on a trip. We use the handheld radios for hunting, so my cousin and I just decided to get the headsets for this particular trip. Worked out pretty good since we could all be on the same frequency and the radios get pretty good range. Plus when we got where we were going (a car show) we kept them on and just "called" each other when we wanted to leave. I was suprised at the headset quality and the range was pretty good. There were a couple times my dad got caught in traffic and "called" us to slow down. If we'd have been more on the highway I'm sure the quality of the sound would have suffered though.

As far as real systems made just for this, I've heard that Starcom (http://www.starcom1.com) is pretty decent b/c you can plug a ton of stuff into their unit and run it all there. So stereo, intercom, cell phone...etc.

Hope that helps!

I would suggest you look at the J&M CB2003 which has intercom, music input, and weather feature and of course, bike to bike via CB which has far better range than any bluetooth made anywhere. Go with the EdSets
headsets since they are better and more durable, and sound a lot better than the factory J&M ones, plus the speakers are better and smaller making it easier to mount in a helmet.
