New Addition to the family, 2005 FXD

I picked up my FXD last night......FINALLY!
First the details.. It's Vivid Black, laced rims, V&H big Radius pipes with Thunder Monster Performance Baffles (Thank You Natural for the baffle recommendation) in place of the stock V&H baffles (sounds awesome), sissy bar with luggage rack, and a Screaming Eagle air kit & Dyna Jet Kit.

Froze my butt off getting it home, only 26 miles, even though the dealer kindly offered to deliver it to my house for free. About 1 mile on the highway my teeth were chattering and I was thinking, What the hell is wrong with me?
Anyway, I'm sad to say I did not get to take everyone’s recommendation last month on mounting my pipes on my easy chair while waiting for the bike to come in, but I think I'll get over it. :D
I will post a picture in the Garage as soon as I get a chance.

Congrats man! Wish you would have had time for the pipes on the chair....but who cares now....they are in the right place. Now we just gotta get rid of this weather around here and you'll be set man. Get those pics of in the garage soon....can't wait to see the new 'baby'.

Congrats man, can't wait to see the photos. Sounds like a good time. Riding in the cold sucks, does anyone else find it hard to breathe when the air is that cold?? Either was, you gotta ride the new scoot home!!! Congrats again, enjoy!!

Hey, congrats man! Screw the easy chair. Now you can go out and park yer butt on the real thing. (How many hours did you spend in the garage with her once you thawed out? Hell, you're probably back in there right now!) Two years ago I took a buddy of mine to pick up his new bike in mid Feb. Only about an 8 mile ride home, but at about 4 degrees (and at night), he was pretty well frozen by the time we got home. Not an enjoyable ride to say the least. Well, anyway, good luck with the new ride, and maybe I'll see you on the backroads of NJ.

Riding in the cold

If you are going to ride in the cold use a baclava to cover your mouth and nose helps preheat the air. Congratulations on the new bike!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know the feeling waiting for my bike to be completed.

Congrats Lamonster

Ridin in the cold like that really bites... but we all know the reason why you were there... and your bike was not on a trailer heading for your home...It's the reason we are all here, it's the good life that no one in their right minds would choose... so glad my mind was corupted all those years ago.... Chattering teeth, hands and arms so cold that when ya moved your thumb it felt like someone was bangin on yer funny bone... knees frozen in the bent postion and unable to put them down... it's all part of the life we love, and the one we try to improve upon daily.
Stay safe, and enjoy... so glad the arm chair didn't get the refit, I am sure the pipes look better on the bike.
Chessie

Thanks Guyz...

 You guys are all right, thanks for the nice replies about my new scooter!
I feel like a little kid at Christmas time, Woke up early the next morning to let the dog out and I caught myself peeking in the garage too see if it was really in there.
Anyway, I already tore off the standard 88CI emblem and the Emissions sticker from the air cleaner and put on the new Screaming Eagle emblem that came with the high flow air cleaner. I took it out today for a short blast to see an old friend of mine. I think he was more excited than I was, as he came flying out of his house when he heard it coming down his driveway, so I let him take it for a blast around the block. I normally don’t make that offer to anyone at all, but it's a tradition between us. He honored me a few years back with letting me be the first and only one ever to try out his new Harley, so I returned the favor.
I tried 3 times today to post one of the new pictures in the garage but I keep getting errors for the web site when I try to upload it. Is anyone else having this issue? I will try again in a minute... l8tr folks...
