Good to hear from some one in the UK. Hows the 2 wheel ridding in Bristol UK? I'm a avid rider and allways looking for new places to ride. I think Europe might be fun ride. I hear you can rent a BMW real reasionable there.

Hi Rapido,

It is possible to rent bikes here in the UK, although I understand that the quality is not always the best, you will need to check thoroughly. There is also an excess mileage charge to consider if you are planning to really tour, and I am not sure if you will be allowed to take the bike out of the UK into Central Europe, these are all things you will need to double check.

I did speak to an American guy once, ( in a pub ), who was doing a tour of Europe, he bought a bike here, insured it and set off on his European tour. At the end of the tour he intended to simply sell the bike and return to the U.S.. There are plenty of low mileage BMW's on offer here if you decide to investigate that route.

Anyway, there is some food for thought !!
