HELP my bike won't start after sitting awhile
 

I have a 1993 FZR600 and the darn thing will not start after it sits for about a day??? I ran it out of gas about 3000 miles ago and I decided to put it away for the winter but I would occassionaly go out and start it up. Latley I has not started and I have to spray starting fluid into the carbs to get them going. Once it starts it runs but if I let it sit for a day it doesnt want to start again. Its almost like the fuel is draining out of the carbs. I put fuel stabilizer in it when I stored it. I want to sell it but I cant get proper money for it if it doesnt start. Any advice??

A common problem with that model is the regulator dies over time. This charges the battery. Check and see if it is tight against the frame as if it is loose then its finished, as it needs the frame to cool down. If it is'nt that then put your battery on a long charge and put it back in the bike. Start the bike with the lights on and look at the neutral light. If it flickers then the battery is getting a charge but you will need to put a faze tester to the battery and see is it showing just under 12volts when running. Then give it a bit of throttle and see if the volts go to just under 13volts. The bottom line is the bike needs a good run to charge up everything.
