1974 CB 360 Stator Wiring Test
I have a 1974 Honda CB360, great bike, mechanically sound, however I have a problem with charging the battery. Replaced the battery with a brand new one, but it has drained completely and does not recharge with riding. I am assuming either the stator or regulator is bad based on a discussion I had with someone who works on bikes. I am inexperienced with motorcycle wiring, however I have a meter and do have experience with wiring in general. I need to know how to test the stator, in more or less a step by step fashion:
1)Where are the wires located on the bike that I am testing (where do they come out, what colors am I testing across)? 2)What resistances/voltage values should I expect? 3)How do I test the regulator/rectifier? If anyone has experience with this problem and can break this down for me that would be great, I would rather check this out and order the part and do it myself than take it to an unknown garage in the city. I appreciate the help! |
