883 cylinder bore?

Can anyone tell me if 1997 883 cylinders be bored to .040 over 1200cc? If i do the math correct this would make them a 3.537" bore.

FYI,
From what I can find out .040 over is as far as you can safely go. The only problem is that the motor will be pron to getting hot.
