Front Tire

Hi all. I am looking to get a 2000 sportster 883 with really low miles, but the front tire seems to be worn more than usual. What could cause this? It isn't really that bad, but seems more than it should.

Also, what kind of price range should I expect on a bike like this, given low miles (say...2900), screamin eagle pipes, custom seat, and sissy bars? (what exactly is the sissy bar anyways?!?!?, i am kinda new to Harleys)

Thanks for any help, more questions are sure to follow!!

Depends on what kind of tire wear it is. If it's cupping, that's caused by something wrong with the suspension, and most likely the tire is losing contact with the ground (bouncing up and down) under braking. Wear to one side or the other might be because the front and rear tire aren't tracking properly or it's possible that the forks are fubar. How do you know it's not proper wear and it just needs to be replaced because of high mileage?
As far as price, Harley's don't seem to follow any pricing guide, it's whatever a person can get for them, so check what other Sporties are going for you in your area and go from there.
Oh yeah, a sissy bar is the what the passenger rests their back up against. It usually has a padded cushion on it. They vary in height.
Good luck. Hope this helps.

Depending upon how the tire is worn; i.e. middle vs. sidewall wear; if its worn in the middle, it's probbably been over-inflated.
Sidewall wear could be caused by vehicle alignment:confused: Again, thats just a guess.

As for value, depending on your local, anywhere from $5500-8000.
A sissy bar is kinda like a backrest.
