FYI,1500lb bike lift for $44.98 at PEP Boys
 

I got yesterdays PepBoys ad for the east coast Philly & NJ areas.
They have a "Big Red Jacks" brand 1500lb Motorcycle Jack for $44.98 after $10 dollar mail-in rebate. It says it folds up for storage.
Looks like a good deal to me, anyone know if this thing is any good?

Unfortunately I don't have a Pep Boys around here but I am planning on buying a similar lift from Sears. If I am thinking about the same lift your talking about, I have used them in school for lifting my bagger and I didn't have any problems.

Looks like a pretty nice lift. I saw it in the inquirer ads on Sunday but didn't think twice about it, but that's a pretty good price. The regular price is 59 so it's not huge, but it's $10 less....so I could go buy a few beers with that.

if it's the one I'm thinking of, a hefty frame with a bottle jack in there and foot pedal... it's a china copy of a popular one sold in the back of motorcycle rags. right? i bought that same china copy jack at a local discount warehouse supermarket of all places for $50 and i love it. jacks my Road King 18" off the ground, and holds it really steady. great for repairs and even for detailing. you don't have to bend over so far to polish the parts.

Just be sure to set the safety catch's on them. I had mine on one last year, and one day I came home to find the bike on the tires, not in the air. The hydraulics let out, and if the bike wasn't so low it would have been on it's side. Luckily the bike is so low I need to put 2 2x4's under each wheel to get the jack under it!

i have to do the same thing after throwing in the 1-1/2" lowering kit on my Road King. But I don't have to use 2x4s, just 1/2 plywood. definitely use the safety catches (levers) peeps, good advice.
