Good Ride today

Well , I was supposed to work today....but took a day off and went riding. I rode over to Beaumont and stopped in at the local dealer (Cowboy Harley) they had a new FatBoy on the floor that had a set of "pull back" risers on the handle bars. I set on it and when I felt how much more comfortable it was than my bike I had to get a pair for my bike. I'm not too tall (5'8") and the stock bars on my FatBoy are a little too far forward & a little too low. After a couple hundred miles of riding I start to feel it in my shoulders. I had been looking for a different set of bars , but the pull back risers were just what I needed. So, I had service department slap a set on for me, and I had a much more comfortable ride home....it was almost like riding a different scooter.
Hope you all have a great Easter weekend & hope you get to ride !!!

Nice!

Them look good. Might have to see about adding a set to my scoot. I'm 5'10", so they might help the back on the ride. What seat is that on there? Is it comfortable? I'm looking for something more stylish than stock, but still comfortable for Rider and Passenger.

Seat

That's a H-D "low profile custom stitched seat" in the "scorpion" pattern. It's a leather seat much more comfortable than the "BRICK" that they call a stock FatBoy seat. But the rear pillion is very narrow and not very comfortable for a passenger. A friend of mine just got a Mustang touring seat with the rider backrest , and the passenger pillion is about 15" wide. It's a very comfortable seat for the rider and the passenger. If I were to plan on riding more than my normal 200-300 miles a day I would get a Mustang for sure.
Hey Phat-Boy....I'll trade you my seat , and pull-back risers for your bad-ass "Ghost Flame" sheet metal.....??? what do ya say ??? Nah I know the answer to that question...you still have one of the finest FatBoy"s I've ever seen....no doubt about it.

talk to ya later ... FBR

FBR, I'm thinking...............

I have decided, ummm, no, but I appreciate the offer!! Thanks for the kind words. I love that bike, and I just refinanced! Took a year off my loan, and save $30 a month!!!!

Actually I am calling the dealer back about my paint. I had her in for the 1000 mile checkup, and it rained when I came home. I was cleaning her up last night and I found something in the front fender. I can't tell if it's just the clear coat flaking, or deeper than that. We are addressing the issue now, and they are anxious to make it right.

Might have to look into the Mustang seats. She wants a backrest pretty bad, and I want a better looking seat, so we can both win. I'd really like to get something for when I am riding alone, more sleek looking, but then I'll have 3 seats, and they aren't cheap. I've seen them with stiched flames, and that would look cool!Likeleehood of me selling the stock seat is somewhere between slim and none I would assume. Can you get pics of that Mustang seat? Your buddy got a Fatboy?

I think right now I want to focus on the seat and the turn signals, I figure once I get them changed around, I'll stop nit-picking everything.

Also I ordered a set of passing lamps for my scooter today , I got the Halogen ones , and you may have noticed on one of the pics that I have installed an engine guard. Also today I bought a set of H-D pegs to match my passenger pegs , and ordered a set of Kuryakyn off-set "longhorn" mounts for the engine guard , so I can get the highway pegs set back a little for my short legs... lol.
I'm working on getting it set up for some cross-country touring next summer. I plan on getting some saddle bags and using the "Bubba's quick disconnect system. And then I will probably get a Mustang touring seat. Here's the "Bubba's" link....
