Hole in fender from seat...now what?
Well, I've decided to go from my two up see, to a single seat.
Here the problem....with the two-up seat...the passenger one was bolted through the rear fender. I have taken this off, but now there's a hole there....so anybody got any suggestions for what to do to that gaping hole? I was trying to find some accessory for there, but I'm coming up short. I'm going for a really clean look now: so I'm going to a single seat...the sissy bar is coming off and I'm going to get quick detachable bracket for my saddlebags, so when I'm local there's nothing there. Any input appreciated....thanks. Later. |
Mongo , you can get a thumbscrew from your H-D dealer that will fit the hole threads from your two-up seat screw. I have also seen some nice billet type thumbscrews in the J&P catalog.
It's either that or have an ugly hole in your fender. FatBoyRider  |

HD has a cool little black plastic plug with the HD logo that will snap into the hole. That is what I use, so I still can install the rear pad quicklly. The little nut with a c-Clip fits right back if you use a piece of Duct Tap on the end of a long screw driver and feel your way around the rear tire and into hole from bottom then re-install C clip. and you are ready to put the seat back on. Just don't missplace the plastic plug for going back solo. RapidoRaptor |
Mustang has what they call a fender bib runs from the back of your solo to the hole looks like a super thin pillon pad kinda cool and you can get matching tank bib.

I can help you with the detachable sissy bar. I have to change to a plug and play with the wide tire conversion. I'm not sure if it will fit. I need to know the model and the year. It is in mint condition. I picked it up in April so its not very old and I've been working on the wide tire since the middle of August so its had very little use. I post a pic if it'll work. I'm sure it'd work if I still had the bike....LOL.
If you need to sell it, put it for sale on the site here....somebody might pick it up quick. Thanks anyway, later. |
