I'm new here, but not a new rider
I just stumbled across this site & decided to introduce myself. I live in upstate NY & am waiting out the snow to get back on the road.
I have been building, wrenching on & riding HD's for over 30 years. My first HD was a 1957 Panhead chopper: http://www.pbase.com/image/23429104; I bought it as a police bike & rebuilt it from the ground up. That was my first in a long line of hot-rod motors, I put five inch stroke flywheels in it to make it 92 cubic inches. I had a number of HD's over the years, I sold this rocket last year: http://www.pbase.com/image/22635542; This beast was a 105 cubic inch, Murdoch air shifted, dual plug, nitrous injected street ridden drag bike. I built it in my family room in 1984(I have an understanding wife, although she did make me get the flywheel truing stand off of her serving table) I am now riding a 2001 Heritage with a 95 inch SE kit & some other trick stuff: http://www.pbase.com/image/23075870; Happy riding everybody & Happy Holidays -John :) :) |
Welcome !!!
John, welcome to "BikerForums"
I've been riding about 35 years, although I've only been a Harley rider since 1998, first was a Softail Springer, now riding a 2002 FatBoy. I've ridden everything from mini bikes to an Electra Glide, and loved each and every mile I've ever ridden on all of them :D We have a good group here, and your knowledge will be much appreciated, and I hope you will share it with us as time passes. I live in Texas, and get to ride year round....I try not to rub it in too much though ;) take care, and feel free to post away !!! FBR  |
Welcome to Bikerforums, just like FBR said we got a pretty friendly bunch here. Hope you stick around and become part of the regular crew. I also hope the snow melts down a little bit so you can get riding again soon. Take care.

Welcome Aboard John,
Always good to have another "tech" person around. Ride safe and often! |
whoa!!! love the first two bikes. sweet.
welcome to the forum. |
That second bike was a blast to ride, since it ran in the nines in the quarter mile with a slick & wheelie bars it definitely gave some Jap bikes a surprise over the years ;)
I got sick of it blowing up all the time(I beat the hell out of it), so the last time I rebuilt it I used every top shelf part I could find(Delkron cases, Carrillo rods, Jahns pistons, Crane Cam, Velvatouch lifters, Andrews gears etc, etc) After that, it ran for years with no problems. -John |
