Little Q and A

Q: I cleaned and polished my bike before it was stored. Why when I get it out in the spring is the polished aluminum parts oxidized? Is there ways to prevent this?

A: Depending on the storage location, salt off of your car in a garage travels through the air and stains the polished aluminum parts. A corrosion protectant offered by S100 is an inexpensive way to protect your investment all winter long.

Q: While my bike is in storage do I need to remove my battery and do I even really need to charge it?

A: Charging your battery with a Harley-Davidson Battery Tender will increase the life of your battery by maintaining a full charge without any effort since it is an automatic cycling charger, turning on and off automatically when the battery starts to drain.

Q: Instead of charging my battery with a charger, can I just start my bike and let it run for awhile to keep the voltage up?

A: Starting your bike creates a heavy load on the battery, which actually does more harm than good. The short period that the bike is running doesn’t fully recharge the initial draw taken at the start.

Q: Can I treat the amount of gas that I have in my tank or should I have it filled before treating with an octane stabilizer?

A: Completely fill your tank, then treat it. The open air space inside your gas tank will speed up the depletion of the octane level in the fuel. The best way is to apply the stabilizer before filling the tank to mix better.
