Modern Electrics in an Old Bonnie

Hey Guys,
I recently picked up an old '71 T120 Bonnie. Major basketcase...she looked like one of those pictures of a '32 Ford fading away in some farmers field. So its a ground up rebuild for her. I know she's not an investment just something to keep me occupied. I am stockpiling parts at the moment and am thinking of throwing her into a reto cafe skin....clip-ons maybe and rearsets. My first hurdle however is electonics...I have read from both sides of the fence....Lucas elecs were under powered.....boyer is nice but when it goes...it goes. I am thinking of installing the Accel super coils and the Boyer. But since I will alter the frame mounting brackets before I powder coat her I was hoping for some feedback for anyone with some experience with both the old and the new.
Good luck to all,
Troy

Hi WesternJoe

I like you would replace all Lucas parts with other brands. Be-carful of the Positive ground stuff, It was in 1969 on my T120R a positive ground system. Everything else was Negative ground. But replace all wires as you go and enjoy. Wished I had my old friend the 650 Bonnie. Started on second kick everytime. Vibrations were off the ricter scale but I loved it as my first love of bikes. Enjoy

Rapido
