New Vance and Hines Pipes
 

I've been looking for months now and I've now have a replacement exaust system for my Fat Boy. I've been using the Thunder Header and since my motor work (high comp pistons) the pipes are extra sharp now and I've needed to use ear plugs just to ride down to the local anything. I ordered the Vance & Hines "Staggered Big Shots" I'll keep everyone posted on the results as this is a rather large expense. You can see the pipes at the www.VanceandHines.com web site. Pipes should arrive before this weekend and I'll have them on by next week. (shift worker and working on the weekend).

Seriously, let me know what you think about the big shots, I've been going back and forth about making the investment in them for about 3 months.

NEW PIPES ARE A WINNER

I've installed the new Vance and Hines pipes in my Shop in about 2 hours. I ordered the pipes on Tuesday, 5-7-02 and they arrived on 5-9-02 in the evening. As usual, I could not wait and installed the new pipes that evening and let them sit for 2 hours while the Loc-Tite setup. Short ride late evening, and called to work for overtime on Friday and I rode to work all weekend on the bike. Love the new pipes. At freeway speeds the pipes are more mellow and allow me to hear other traffic noise. At low RPM the sound is deep and mellow, (the sharp cracks and Pops of the TH are gone). My gas milage is up, about 42 mpg and It seams to have more torque now which works out to more HP. Pipes look good and I will post a new picture soon.

Here is the real deal on the VHR pipes. I tested the Bigshot crossovers on my dyno and compared them to a Thunderheader, a VHR Pro-Pipe, a set of staggered duals, and a D&D 2 into one. all tests on the same bike on the same day.The new pipe made more horsepower and torque than all of them. I have consistantly made better results with these p[ipes with virtually every engine combination I have tried. GOOD STUFF! TJ

I made the switch from SuperCrapps to Vance & Hines Pro pipe for my 91 FLSTC a few years ago. I expected the power band to change slightly, but DAMN! it REALLY shifted! It's awesome! The ol girl cranks out 100+ Horses now...

On the V-rod, the VH pipe is down on power.

Anyone here use the F.A.I.C pipe? Its supposed to make more HP on the V-rod than anything else. I know its not apples to apples, but......
