Any idea where to get service manuals ? cheap of course ....

Need one for a 99' FXSTC

Call your friendly local H-D "Stealer"...they usually have them in stock $45-50 , I would recommend getting the Shop manual, and the Parts manuals....the Parts manual has "exploded" views of parts, which comes in handy.

Got the shop manual for my Road King from the "stealer" for around $45.00. Haven't had to use it much, as the bike is only 3 years old, but it's still great to have to just familiarize yourself with your bike. Anyway, it's well worth the $$ if you plan on doing any of your own wrenching. Just look at what the dealer's labor rates are :eek: . If you avoid one trip to the shop, it'll have paid for itself. I also had the shop manual for my old sporty. Having that manual definately saved me alot of cash and alot of headaches. You could also check ebay. Never can tell what you may come up with........ Only thing is it's a Haynes manual, not HD.

It's definately good to have a manual. I have one for my '93 FLHTC and it has paid for itself more than a few times.

I like the Clymer manuals around $20 to $30 depending on the bike. Check ebay.

I bought the manual from the dealer and have not had to use it much yet. But being new to mechanics it has helped me with routine maintenace like oil changes and checking the brake pads.
