sissy bar--Have U / Can I ???

Anyone ever machine out a sissy bar,
so that it can be used as a Quick detachable one???
Will have to purchase the mounting kit of course,
But seems do-able.

I'm sure its do-able, just don't have the time. Plus, by the time you get it machined and chromed, you'll probably have some cash in it, and it might just be worth the time and effort to buy it. My .02, but I'm just a hick from IA, what do I know. ;)

I was thinking of buying an extra detachable sissy bar for my Road King and chopping the top off so I could weld on an attitude stick, but they are big bucks so I'm making the lower brackets myself. I'm going to paint them and mount the chrome attitude stick to them. I think it will look cool. When and if I ever finish this project I'll post pics. I've only gotten so far as to make cardboard templates of the lower part for my friend to cut from.
