Is anyone planning on going to any events yet this year?

Is anyone planning any trips this year yet? I know I am planning on Sturgis and Milwaukee so far. I might even hit Little Sturgis.

PHAT-BOY 01-18-2005 03:35 PM

What's going on in Milwaukee?

chesshirecat 01-18-2005 07:05 PM

yuppers

I am a photojournalist in the biker industry. I go many of the major, and so major rallies and such. This year I know I have to go to Bike week in Daytona, I know I will be covering Charleston Bike Week in S.C., and I would love to cover the 4 corners rally. Biketoberfest is a must, since I live so close... maybe Myrtle Beach if I get an invite from someone to cover that one. MMMM I would love to go to Nevada... for the river run. Jeez, I love to go anywhere that has a road to take there... why do ya have to ask such a hard thing of me anyway?

DILLIGAF 01-19-2005 02:55 AM

I might go to Little Sturgis, if I am in the states. If you haven’t been it is fun, but a little redneckish. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. My brother and me are talking about doing a four corners ride. Not necessarily a by the book trip, just a good ride. Has anyone here done one or have information on this type of trip. What to take? Where to go? Where to stay? Where not to go? That kind of stuff. Thanks and be safe.

Starting my own business. V-rod is going to long term storage for now.....

:(

HeavyDuty 01-19-2005 06:18 AM

I guess nothings going on in Milwaukee that's a "biker event" but they do have a festival at the end of the summer that's pretty good I heard. I don't get down there as much as I should but I need to visit my cousin more often. He only lives 1 1/2 blocks from the H-D Office building.

PHAT-BOY 01-19-2005 06:43 AM

Are you talking about Summerfest in Milwaukee? That is supposed to be a really good time. Actually I would like to go back to Milwaukee someday when there aren't 400,000 other bikers there. Might be a little easier to get around in. Good strip club there as well.

Wow, sorry to hear that you will be puttin up your scoot. Hope that the business thing goes well for you, I know that a man's gotta do what a man has to do, so keep your heart in the wind during the long dry spell.

Little Sturgis

That's a must to attend, even if ya only do it once. I went there a few years back, when it was still pretty small. It was a great time, and reminded me of Daytona back in the early '70s. A real good time, and lots of good riding people.

PHAT-BOY 01-19-2005 11:32 AM

What's this new business BeeLo??

BeeLo 01-19-2005 03:02 PM

Pest Control.

I was involved in that feild about 6 years ago in between textile jobs (my "official" training) and now that textiles are pretty much in China or Mexico, my college degree is basically useless. I've been a government contractor for the last 5 years, but babysitting government employees got old about 4 years ago. ;) I've stuck it out this long frankly because they pay me well, but like Popeye said, I can't stands no more!

Took my license exam last Friday. Mongo is helping me get some internet stuff set up. Just need the spring to get here!

PHAT-BOY 01-19-2005 05:53 PM

Oh man, you got Mongo involved in this venture. What were you thinking!!!

LOL Just kidding. Best of luck in the new venture.

Mongo 01-20-2005 04:25 AM

That's it, Phat-Boy....I'm coming to to Iowa to kick your ass.

BeeLo, I'm gonna get the rest of that stuff set up today for you and I'll email you.

BeeLo 01-20-2005 04:27 AM

Thanks man, I really appreciate it.

Do they even have an airport in Iowa? :D

Mongo 01-20-2005 04:32 AM

I wouldn't call it an airport, more like a building where planes sometimes go.

Natural 01-20-2005 05:58 AM

Myrtle Beach Bike Weeks a sure thing for me, also considering the Smokie's Rally in North Carolina and possibly Little Sturgis.

PHAT-BOY 01-20-2005 08:17 AM

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, HELL NO!

Don't be crackin on IA like it's some down home inbred wasteland. So we don't have paved roads, the pigs run free, we drink milk straight from the cow and we don't have gang warfare. It's still home.

Hey Mongo, anytime you want to head over, we'll go have a beer or 10, then we cant fight about it.

GO STEELERS!!!

BeeLo 01-20-2005 09:01 AM

No gang warfare? And you call that an American state? ;)

PHAT-BOY 01-20-2005 09:46 AM

It's kinda funny actually, they think they are gangs, they would like to be gangs, but then the gangs from Chicago come to town to re-supply the drug dealers and kick all of our gangs asses. Welcome to IA.

HeavyDuty 01-20-2005 12:15 PM

Hey, Phat-Boy. Is it true that Iowa stands for:
Idiot
Out
Wandering
About

That's just what someone from Iowa told me one time and I want to know if it's true.

PHAT-BOY 01-20-2005 12:39 PM

Matter of fact, no that's not true. It's idiot'S, plural version. :p

We put a fence up around Wisconsin and call it the IA Zoo now.

chesshirecat 01-20-2005 01:06 PM

and the gauntlet has been thrown,,,

Yes ladies and gentlemen, the gauntlet hs been thrown by HeavyDuty of Tomah Wisconsin, the challange has been accepted by Phatt Boy: boy wonder of Iowa.

The battle of wits has begun... can HeavyDuty keep up the swift pace he started? Will Phatt-Boy have the last word? Yes ladies and gentlemen, if these two bright and witty bikers can sustain the pace, or at least pace themselves like Lance Armstrong in the Tour de France race... we just might have ourselves a bloody battle right here in the coffee shop!

Watch out for flying coffee grounds and tea bags, the cups of the regulars will have to be put up under lock and key... (don't wanna piss off a bunch of otherwise delighted bikers, now would ya?) The tables and chairs have already been bolted to the floor due to an earlier heated debate,,, the arena is set, and we.... the members of this fine site await with baited breath for the next round! Gentlemen, to your corners, all rules have been dumped, let the debates continue!
AWWW now this is living....

Am I naive, b/c I thought it was friendly conversation.

Natural 01-20-2005 01:24 PM

Inbred? Here in the South some of us resemble that remark. Anybody ever told you guys that it's "Alright to be a redneck"? An as far as the fightin goes, I'll leave that to Hoyt.

An before you guys start scratchin yo haid's and wonderin WTF's he talkin bout, I just finished up 2 graveyard shifts/12.5 hours each with about 8 hours sleep total. I'm wired and intitled to ramble, mutter, and scratch my butt.

chesshirecat 01-20-2005 01:43 PM

Mongo,

You're not naive, I know this is friendly... as we all do, I was hoping to use the running commentary to spice it up a bit,,, kinda like how Howard (you know that annoying sports moderator?) used to do when there was a lull in the action.

If anyone took my post for anything more than that, my apologies to all.

Perhaps my sense of humor is a bit too dry?
Anyway, the comments by all three, (Phatt-Boy, Natural, and Heavy-Duty,) are quite funny and I hope that no-one takes a true offence... it's just humor between friends after all.

LOL. I may be from Philly, but I was born and raised in the part of PA most people like to call Pennsyltucky. Nothing wrong with being a redneck.

PHAT-BOY 01-20-2005 01:52 PM

Please take note that I mention no specific states in my note. Didn't want to offend. It's all good, we can all take a ribbin in my opinion. I don't think I'm a redneck, but I think the might be a redneck jokes are funny as hell.

Personal favorite:

"If you have ever had your nipple bitten off by a beaver....... You might be a redneck." :D

HeavyDuty 01-20-2005 02:14 PM

Yes, it's all in fun. Don't want to hurt anybodies feelings. Thanks for clearing up the plural issue for me. I didn't want keep saying it wrong and you aint seen nuthin till you've seen a bunch of cheeseheads get together, oh wait, you probably seen it every sunday when the Packers played. But at least we have a football team unlike another state that I will not mention.

PHAT-BOY 01-20-2005 02:17 PM

Yeah, they are unlike any other. My Dad is a CheeseHead, it's quite a following they have there.

I'm looking for tickets to the Green Bay / Steelers game next year. Got a connection???

GO STEELERS!!

chesshirecat 01-20-2005 02:24 PM

Steelers Vs Packers

I have mixed loyalties between the two. I love the Steelers... I used to live in Pa. My mom roots for the packers, she used to live is Wis.
I think the cheesheads have more fun at their games, their lot parties are the best in the nation or so I'm told. So if the Steelers play the Packers next year... I am confused, just who do I root for? Gosh, maybe I should just stay home that weekend... or maybe T-VO the game... so Mom won't knock my head off when I root for the Steelers?
