Another Bike in the Garage
Yes indeed, it's a happy day in the Junkyard household. My oldest son has been wanting a dirt bike for a long time, and saving a lot of his cash, Monday night it finally paid off, and we rode home with a 2002 Yamaha TT-R 125L in the back of my truck.
On the way home, he told me to make sure Mrs. Junkyard takes the cash out of his account. I said "you know what, since you busted you *** saving all that $$, how about I cover the cost of the bike, and you just buy yourself the gear you need".
That's the look I got.
I've got to say I've really been loking forward to getting him out in the dirt. It brings back memories from when I started riding. Now I have to start looking for a bike for my youngest son, and then maybe one for me.
It would be great to do some off road riding again. Just me and the boys.

Oh man, that is so cool. I'll never forget my first dirt bike and that was a long time ago. (1972 Kawasaki 100) Some of my best memories are of that bike and the times that I spent with my Dad on the trails. Could never do that with my son and I sure wish I had. I'm definitely getting his interest with my Harley though.
Hey Junkyard, that's cool. I too started out on a dirt bike (well a Yamaha Enduro 125). It may as well been made for the dirt for the places me and my brothers took it. It was a good bike. Tell your son congrats on the bike. I bet he's still smilin' from ear to ear. He must have worked his tail off for along time to get the one he wanted. I bet the little guy wonders where his is.
The off roading for you 3 together would be awesome to say the least. Good luck man!!!
My 11 yr old daughter would rather ride w/ me on my 750 as to take the van or truck anywhere. Guess she'll have her one later on when she is old enough. She's already told me she wants to learn to drive my bike real soon, but I'm afraid she'll take it from me when she can drive!!!!
