Default Please help!! New member with an R6 track bike

Hi everyone I am new to this forum and would really appreciate some advice with a bike i have just purchased.

I have bought an R6 track bike, the gear box linkage is fixed for 1 up and 5 down but i want to convert it back to a standard road gear box (but it will be used for track days only - hope this makes sense). Does anyone have any advice on how to put it back to standard?? I dont particularly want to pay heavily to have this done if it can be done easily by myself.

Thanks everso

I don't know anything about inport bikes but would think that you will have to change the shifting mechanism in the transmission.

"If" the shifter linkage is connected to a splind shaft sticking out of the transmission case, you can possibly change its direction. For example, if it is pointing up, you can change it so that it's pointing down. This should change the gear pattern from up to down or vice versa. I hope this makes sense. It is just a guess. Welcome and hope you get your shift pattern worked out. I am afraid I cannot help with this.
