87 Softail Shocks ?????
Ok the book says these guys are nitrogen filled,
yep thats ok,
it also says they cannot be taken apart,
ok I agree, don't loosen any of the lines connected to the nitrogen cylinders,
Now,
Can I still take them apart and make the one end longer to lower
the bike??? (leaving the nitrogen lines etc alone)
Must be a harley mechanic around here someplace that has played with these older shocks....
Now I really wonder can their really be any nitrogen left in these after all these years,
Hell I had hair back then to ,but after time ,things do loose their original configuration,,,,,,,
Thanks for any ideas,
as I did get stuck while trying to turn around and backing up over a dip,( can't ya just see me peddling some air and going nowhere?)
Damn I'm only 5' 3"
This is like having a car with no reverse,( oh yea had one of those to , 59 ford to be exact .)
