Default First Bike 05 Gsxr 1000

I finally got my first bike, it's a 2005 gsxr 1000. Very nice, clean, with Yoshi Carbon exhaust system, one of the reasons why I got it was not because I'm speed crazy but the guy was sellin it for 500 under it's value, so if I try it out around my block for a few wks and don't like it, I can sell it easily, or maybe trade it in for a cruiser cuz dealerships would go insane for this bike right now. I don't really like speed too much, I just love the looks of the bike and the feeling of riding. I'm prolly gonna practice around my neighborhood for about 2 wks before taking it out on the road. Any suggestions or comments would be great for a noobie. Thanks.

Take the MSF course in your area first, then ride the bike. It will help.

I think you're on track then....just take it slow and don't ride past your abilities. Find an open parking lot and get familiar with the bike.

Just because you dont like speed all that much now, when you hit the open road YOU will open it up. I had an 04GSXR600, babied it the first season. Second season came up quick. Was on 290 in auburn, ma and a corvette went so i went. Before i knew it after i started slowing down for a 1000 feet i was at 140. Your bike tops well over 200. Be safe and keep an eye of the the vehicles. Countless times ive almost been hit.
