"wide ass swingarm kit(dyna)
Has anyone used the new zodiac wide ass swingarm kit to install a 250(18x8.5) wheel on a dyna? If so how was it. I just purchased the kitand I am ready to do the install.

Welcome to the boards. I don't know of anyone that has posted anything about that particular kit since I have been here, but I guess we'll find out. Thanks for signing into the boards. Keep us updated on your progress with pics. Never seen a Dyna with a 250 on it.

Welcome.....Like PB say's post some pics, I've seen lot's of Softails with wide kits, but not Dynas.
good luck with it.... FBR  |

Pictures
I will have pics this week, still not done. This has been a bigger project than expected. I had to purchase a narrow belt kit and do some machine work but finally got the belt to clear the 250. I also had to offset rear wheel aprox. 5/8" and finally will have to make adjustments to the new fender struts.

Cool, looking forward to seeing the progress. Looks like you've been busy.

Big tire kit
Have you thought of just going chain drive?
Belts are to hold up your pants!! |
Tried a chain with a 3/4" off set on front sprocket......didnt work! I have the wheel all on and spaced and ready to go with only a slight offset on rear wheel....shouldnt affect handling. I had to machine down my stock caliper bracket because of off set on rear wheel.......almost ready for test drive...!!!!

I took my bike for a test ride today. I went about 20 miles (BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRR 21 degrees)
It handled excellent...no pulling to one side or anything. I let go of the bars at 45 mph and it tracked nice and straight.........all I have to do now is finish with my rear fender and give it a paint job and I'm ready to roll........ |
21 degrees????...the steering bearings were probably frozen, that's why it tracked straight LOL!
|
Over 100 miles and no problems.......everything is running smooth.....

That's sweet looking man. I bet you can't wait until the body and paint work is done.
|

As usual plans change............. new fender pics
|
is that a lite under the fender, showing thru ???
or a glow in the dark thingy??? interesting |
Very cool! How did you cut the letters in the fender? Looks like that was a bitch.
|
Tom, thats a light recessed in the fender with a piece of polished aluminum for a reflective backing plate........Junkyard I used a plasma cutter for the lettering.............wasnt bad cutting!!!
|
Ahhh, a plasma cutter. Very cool. That's one toy I would love to own!
|
The company I work for makes plasma cutters and water jet machines. Nice work by whatever you used for sure. I setup and run the CNC machines that make the plasma tips for some of our machines... hoping it was one of ours as I'm told we're the best in the business in Plasma!
|
Plasma cutters and saw-z-all two of mans greatests inventions.................
|
Over 4000 miles on since 250 was installed and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Handles great!!!! :D
