Problem removing the tripple tree.

Problem removing the tripple tree.
I cannot slide the triple tree off the forks due to this air or gas valve in the way, I need to paint the trees and install clip on bars but I cant do this until the trees removed, heres a photo http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=1e579s&s=6
