Another weekend gone by....
Had a long weekend fly by me again this past weekend. Hope everybody is enjoying the nice weather like we are here in Philly. Although Saturday's weather wasn't great - we needed the rain.
I got hit with another loss this past weekend. As some of you may know about 2 weeks ago I had to put one of my dogs down due to bloat. My Mastiff "Thor" developed this, and the only humane action was to ease the dog's pain. Surgery is an option on these dogs, but the success rate isn't great and the cost of the surgery is pretty big.
Well, another bud of mine, my rottweiler "Katie" started doing the gimp a few weeks ago. She's always gimped in bad weather, since she has arthritis. So we've been monitoring it, but this time it was her front leg...and seemed to be pretty constant - unlike the arthritis that varies. Sooo....to the vet she went on Friday and I'll be damned - the young girl had bone cancer that had nearly eaten through her front left leg - doc said it had also already spread to her back legs. No choice again, so our rottie had to be put down.
Sadly, I've gone from 3 to 1 dog in about 3 weeks. This really put a damper on my weekend. Hard enough to deal with one loss...but a back to back loss really hits hard. So the lone dude, "Marty" is sorta lost about the house - but he seems to be doing alright. So, with all the bad stuff going on - I got motivated and dug the footer for the shed, almost finished the 3rd floor in the house, and got the outside landscaped. Pleased to report the shed should be up by the end of may - can't wait to get that one completed.
Hope all is well with everybody.

Sorry for your loss Mongo;
My kids are grown and gone and me pup Molly is the new kid in the house. She will be the last one as I don't like getting attached to the short lived animals and have to deal with loss anymore.
Again sorry for your loss.
