ALERT: Radical liberals have been trying for years
to get Rush Limbaugh off the air. Now, they might
actually succeed -- at least, when it comes to Armed
Forces Radio.
According to CNSNews.com, Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA)
announced last week that he has successfully amended
the Fiscal Year 2005 Defense Authorization bill,
adding a CENSORSHIP provision that calls on American
Forces Radio and Television Service to "provide
political balance in its public affairs programming" --
in other words, to REMOVE the highly popular Limbaugh
from our troops' airwaves.
What was his reasoning? Harkin was quoted as saying
that American Forces Radio and Television Service is
funded by taxpayers of all political persuasions, and
therefore it should "make a greater effort to provide
balanced representation of political viewpoints on
its airwaves to American service members around the
world."
WHAT!!! If he really believes that, why isn't he
introducing bills to DE-FUND National Public Radio?
NPR is the most politically-biased taxpayer-funded
radio network imaginable -- and it's funded by YOU
and ME!
We need to take action NOW to stop this censorship of
traditional American values -- *conservative* values --
on the troops' airwaves. If they succeed here, their
next step is to re-introduced the "Fairness Doctrine"
and get Limbaugh -- and ALL conservative talk radio --
off the air!
TAKE ACTION: What makes this worse is that Harkin's
amendment passed in the Senate by UNANIMOUS consent!
Not ONE Republican Senator stepped forward to defend
Rush. NOT ONE.
Well, the defense authorization bill must be reconciled
by a conference committee, which means we have one more
chance to KILL this outrageous censorship amendment.
