the parking lot here at work looks like a beach. i've never seen so much sand. they must have been spreading the stuff 3 to 4 days a week this winter. the spot where i normally park my motorcycle is a mound of snow about 3' high still. just a liiiiitle bit more longer. patience boyz.

you peeps in the warm stuff just clam up and don't feel like you have to add to this thread, ok? just leave us alone in our misery.

FBR....you suck brother! I'm working on the wifey to move back to TX. My boss said he'll move me to Austin with no questions asked, so now I just gotta get her to bite.

 

Today I scratched the itch...-5 degree morning...35 degree afternoon...25 mile ultra glide ride to no where... and for those of you who live in warmer climates year round..need I mention I have no traffic lights, no hurry, no crime, no crowds, no hassles and no BS... Even got a thumbs up and a you crazy bastard look from the Sheriff

Mongo, that would be awesome if you were to relocate to Austin (center of the Universe )....I always tell people "If you like pretty hills, and pretty girls...Austin is the place to be ", and some of the best roads in Texas for riding bikes just west of Austin...

Seriously there's plenty of room left for more of our Northern friends..come on down...lol

I've been wanting to visit Austin for a few years. I love live music and a friend who played in a couple rock bands there (Ghetto Cowgirl and Igneous Rock) says it's the best city in the country for clubbin'. gotta go.

 

Definately a cool place. When you go, you need to look for a "girl" named Leslie.

Screw it. I rode the bike to work today. 19 mile ride, and about 32 degrees at 6:30 am. Wasn't too bad. Fingers were just getting numb when I got here. Gonna be a nice ride home though!

 

i caved today too. went home and got the RK at lunch, took a little spin. Will go for a long ride on way home. It is a nice day here in CT finally.

 

Leslie is not a stripper. She's a transvestite that runs for Mayor and get's votes! She/He's a staple of the downtown life on 4th street I believe. It's the long road of bars in downtown Austin. No trip to Austin is complete without meeting the icon of the city, Leslie. Imagine if you will a middle aged man, weighing about 145 pounds, with thick black body hair wearing a cocktail dress. That's Leslie.

One thing you do need to catch is the bats. There are thousands of bats that live under this bridge and in the summer at night they all fly out at once to feed. It's a site to behold.

 

I read about the bat bridge on the city's website, sounds really cool. As for Leslie.... ew

 

6th street is where all the partying is, the bars, the clubs, places to eat....and the Congress St. bridge is where the Mexican Free Tailed bats hang out....

I think cranky old hag mother nature must be PMSing. Had a great ride home from work yesterday, and now it's snowing like all hell. WTF? This weather is bullshit! If we get any kind of accumulation out of this, I'm gonna snap!

because we like paying a heat bill,buying extra warm clothes,snow tools,equip.slip slidin around is fun,an I really don't care for air conditioning, unless its ungodly hot
but I do like the seasons, as it changes things around some , instead of hot ,hot,hot HOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got to take my sister in law's Yamaha from her old house to mine this past Friday. It was about 50 degrees out and while it definitely not my V-rod, it was nice to get back on the road. Especially since it will probably be my only time this year.

 

i got 50 miles in on my GSX-R600 this past Sunday. Warmed up the tires with a few 100+mph blasts. That was cool.

 

Finally got out today on my gixxer 6.....the feeling to live again is great

Great weather today! Woke the neighbors up at 6:30 and had a great ride to work. Roads are nice and dry after the friggin' monsoon we had on Monday, but all that rain did a nice job of cleaning all the crap off the roads. Gonna be near 60 this afternoon, and I'm taking the scenic route home!
