Thumbs up

Hey FBR and Phat-Boy, I'm in ND, not that far away from WI. Would love to meet you guys there. Maybe I could entice you to swing thru good ol' ND and show you how we party here. LOL, not sure if you guys could handle a bunch of women on bikes and letting the hair down. LOL. Anyway, send me the details and i'll be there. Was planning on going with a buddy, sssshhhhhhh..... don't tell anyone but I was planning on riding on the back of his new ride. Let me know the details, you can pm me or send to my yahoo email.... sunshine_nd69@yahoo.com. Anyway have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Ok, I called about lodging. We can get an apartment within 30 miles of the action for $1400 for the week, furnished. Otherwise it's $109 a night 60 miles away. Houses go up for rent on Jan 2nd, so the possibility to rent a house is in there too. I don't know how much everyone is looking to spend on this venture, so there are the options. All depends on how close you want to be.

Dizzy D, I'm in Iowa, so ND would be a left turn, and WI is a right turn. For sure let's meet up in WI though. You interested in the lodging with FBR and I?

I'm in.

I have a few things to work out to get there...but I'm committed to going. First off, whether I'll be able to take off (probably will, but I don't even know my schedule yet). Secondly, gotta get another ride (that shouldn't be a problem).

Again, I'm in.....I'd like nothing more than to hang out with ya'll. I might trailer it to Iowa then ride up with ya'll.

There was a company mentioned in Easyriders this month about lodging. When I get home, I'll dig it up.

Feel free to trailer it man. I got places to store trucks and trailers while we are gone. I called the place that is listed on the HD website for lodging. Mega Housing was the name it. That may be the same place as Easyriders had listed, but if not, fire a call off. The guys from Wilwert's are staying in Madison, which is like an hour away.

Default Here's the plan

Ok, Mongo and I talked about the lodging situation. We are going to rent the apartment for the week. The apartment is in a 30 mile radius of Milwaukee. Will have 2 beds, and I will be bringing 2 air mattresses. As of right now we have 4 confirmed in the apartment. I am working on a 5th. $280 would be the figure each for Thurs - Mon if we end up at 5. $350 if we hold at 4. I am willing to put this on my credit card, but I need to be paid up front from everyone. (Building a house and all) Let me know if you are in for sure and require lodging. I'll PM you my address and you can send the money. I have confirmed at this time FBR, Mongo, Myself, and my buddy Andy. FBR, I'm working on Bob, he's the possible 5th. Let me know. Dizzy, I sent you an e-mail.

I say you set a deadline for people to get back to you of like next week. After next week we should just send you the money and roll with it so we have those plans concreted.

I'm still working piece by piece on my transportation needs. Thanks for taking care of this stuff Phat-Boy....we appreciate it.

Exclamation Need to know

Ok, here's the deal. Everyone that wants to go, I need to know by Monday the 6th at Noon Central time. At that time, I will let everyone know the totals, and where to send the money. I will then reserve the apartment, and get everyone the address. We are planning on heading up on Aug 28th and Returning home either Sunday the 31st or Monday the 1st (Labor Day). Depends on the party Sunday. We have the apartment for the entire time. You can PM me or e-mail me at bugs0729@hotmail.com to let me know.

As of right now I have for sure's on:
Mongo
FatBoyRider
Myself (PB)
Andy (my buddy)
I may have a 5th (Bob). Working on him, he'll probably bring his old lady if he comes.

Anyhow, let me know by the 6th of Jan if you are for sure going.

Happy New Year!

Default New Accomidations

Might be a change of plan, looking into a 3 bedroom house now. It's going to be $3000 for the week, but it looks like we are up to 8 - 10 people, so that's only $300 each at 10. We'll probably bump up the price for those that want a bedroom, so those of us on the air mattresses will pay a little less. It's got a garage, and 2.5 baths if we get the one I am eyeballing.

Breaker Breaker for FBR, where ya at man???? C'Mon back??...

Is it too late to join in here? I can take the last 2 possiably 3 weeks in August, it is a long ways from California but I figure one or two days there and back in two weeks should work for me. If you are still open to it.

Never too late to get in on the party man, and everyone is welcome! I need to know for sure if you are coming, and how many nights you want to crash. Keeps up at this rate and we'll need a 4 bedroom! Feel free to swing through Iowa on Interstate 80 and join our ride up on the 28th. I live in Cedar Rapids, just off 380N. I'm planning on giving everyone totals on the 6th, and having money sent in then so I can make the reservation.

Default Final Counts

Ok, it's noon my time, and the final tally is in I believe. From the boards we have:

Mongo
Rapido Raptor (?? I assume from your post)
Myself

FBR is not making the trip unfortunatelly.

Also going is my buddy Andy. I am waiting to hear from 6 more here in town (relatives), so when I hear from them I'll let you know what the housing situation is. I should know this afternoon, then I'll call the housing guy and see what he has available. From there, I'll let everyone know the totals, and how much to send me for the deposit. If those 6 go, we will get a 3 bedroom for $3000, making it $300 each. That's not bad at all for 4 nights. The other 6 will want bedrooms, so they will probably pay a little more so those of us on the floor will get a better rate.

More later!!!!

Unhappy Sorry Phat-Boy

Have had a rough couple of weeks, my grandmother passed away and an aunt, been out of town. I figured I was too late to get in on the rooms, my ol' man and I are going to stay with an old class mate of mine in the suburbs, we are planning on a week there. Let me know when and where you all are going to be laying your heads down and i'll try to meet you there. I'll post a pic of us shortly, that way you can keep an eye out for us. Mind you my hair is much shorter (long story, but it relates to my grandmother's passing). Anyway, am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Anyone going to Sturgis this year????????????? Let me know I can meet up with you then too. Am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Ok...it's definate...we are gonna be in Wisconsin for the 100th! Notice I said Wisconsin...maybe one day in the frey We have friends that have a house about 100 miles north west of Milwaukee and we will be staying there. We are planing to tour Wisconsin and spend one day in Milwaukee. If you have definate place ya'll are staying or cel phones e-mail the info and possibly we can hook-up.

We are also gonna be in South Dakota for the time of Sturgis. We will be staying in Hot Springs, south of Sturgis. So anyone wanta get a hold of me...it might be a challenge. Seems cell phones don't work real good out there. But if ya think ya might wanta reach me we will be staying at the TOAL HOUSE in Hot Springs, SD. for the 3rd - thru the 6th

Well, we made it out alive. Mongo, Myself and the rest of our crew ended up living in the ghetto for a few days up in Milwaukee. If you are ever planning on attending an event where there is housing rental, don't use a company called Target Sport Adventures. I **** you not, and Mongo will back me on this, we heard gunfire one night for sure. Most of the block is scheduled for demolition next week, that's how bad it was.

On the 100th side, there were approx 300,000 bikers up there, and bikes as far as the eye could see. We got to see a lot of cool stuff, went through the Powertrain Operations tour, and went to a lot of strip joints. I recommend the Encore. Nice girls, and good atmosphere. All in all it was a pretty good time, but I think Sturgis will be more my speed when I hit that. Put about 700 miles on, so it was a nice ride all in all.

Sober, sorry we didn't get ahold of you. I meant to call a few times, but also kept forgetting to get my planner out of the truck with your number. Hope you had a blast man!

Yes, we're back....and despite having to lock all the bikes together b/c of the neighborhood....we had a good time. Nice to meet up with the Phat-Boy and get some good riding in. My head is spinning trying to catch up with stuff at home, so once I get settled a little more I'll post in Mongo's world about the trip. Overall.....good time and the trip is in the BAG!

Well, I can say that my accomidations were a whole lot better than that! We arrived in Wisconsin on Monday and took off Tuesday for a trip around Wisconsin. We stayed the first night of the journey by the Mississippi River. Saw some awesome scenery and went on to Near Madison and sayed the night. Then back to the cabin the next day. We left there on Friday and we were intending to head for Indiana but decided to see if we could get a room in Janesville and did. So we stayed there for a night and rode into Millwaukee to the the lake front and heard and saw the sights to be seen. Got back to Janesville by 3 am and packed up and moved to Madison for Saturday night. We took in the Fair grounds and Hal's and headed back to the motel. Sunday we packed it up and came to Indiana, where we are presently.

It was a good time but I felt like it was just another rally...maybe I have just been on the road too long this year. Still have Columbus, Ohio, Charelston, WV and York, Pa before we head home.

Soberbiker, sounds like you kinda share the opinion of Phat-Boy and myself. We had a good time, but the lakefront, and Hal's were absolutely nuts....too many people to do anything. I think we hit the fairgrounds on a good day (friday) b/c it wasn't that bad yet.

We had a lot more fun just riding together and checking out some smaller places like the powertrain facilities.

FBR, only once did the Phat-Boy leave with cash in his pocket....and that was the night before we headed out back to Iowa. That bald head surely draws the girls around for the man, but I'm the only one who got a rub down right there at the table.....LOL.

I hear ya there Mongo...somethin to be said for them clean heads...I gave up shavin mine and let it grow out just a bit. Way too much trouble shavin in everyday!

The ridin was the best part of the whole thing in my book...that's why I didn't mind stayin so far away for all the hoopla. Just to be on the road with now friggin stop lites!

Sorry we didin't hook up, but there's always more to come. We'll do it somethime.

Man, you forget to mention the rubbing my head got from my sweet Kristi. You are right though, that gal did rub the **** out of you. You probably still smell like stripper! At least we have the memories of the mammories. FBR, it brought back memories of a time I was in Houston. Had a blast. Don't worry though, one day all of us Bikerforums members will be sitting around enjoying the jubblies, having some beers at the first annual Bikerforums reunion!

Glad to hear you all had a good and safe time up here. As far as top strip joints in the area, I prefer On The Border, just a bit south of Milwaukee.

I agree with you on the festival grounds. Other than it all being bikers, that is what Summerfest is like for us every year, except it's a lot more people there for Summerfest.

I was glad to see the police in Milwaukee actually taking it easy and having a good time, and letting people do the same. Their current and soon to be ex chief has been known to do things a little extreme before.

And sorry about those gunshots guys, I was just having a little fun after a night on the town (KIDDING )
