Default Homebrewed Usable Electricity

Where can someone get a hold of cheap used motorcycle batteries? Ones that still might work, or can be recycled into usable batteries? I don't want to be victim to the next black out.

Check this notice out,

Hey you can make your own electricity pretty easy.

Here is a thread on getting it right out of the earth

Here's another beginners thread showing how to run an electric motor backwards to make electricity

Making usable electricity clean, helps the planet. Don't get caught in the next black out. (post logged in or anonymous)

My biggest fear of a "black out" is that all my beer will get hot

But to answer your question, any motorcycle dealer, or independent motorcycle shop will have used batteries laying around, and probably be glad for someone to haul them off for them. That way they won't have to deal with the recycling issues associated with batteries.

So, do you have a bike, or are you just looking for batteries ?

Default Do I have a bike

I have a 1963 Sportster 903 basket case, actually put together minus gears, (needs a gears grind) Got it about 3 years ago, never fixed it, I was drinking alot then, ol' lady was afraid I'd kill myself.
Then when I sobered up, ( I ) was afraid I'd kill myself, ha. It rains alot in Seattle, so maybe before next summer, now that this one is almost over. Estimate was like $700 for gear grind.

Thanks for the battery info.
