Kicking around a few things to add to the boards and need some other ideas/upgrades if you have any thoughts.

I am currently changing some of the buttons and possibly the logo, but I'll let you all vote of them when I have them finished before they go onto the board.

I'm also thinking about adding a separate directory for people to showcase their projects. Basically, a regular user of the board would have to request this space on bikerforums.org, and I would provide the space and tools to publish a section detailing your motorcycle or related project. This can be anything to a complete customs build, or how put cruise control on your scoot. Basically they would just be like articles.

Do you all have any ideas for the site? Let me know and we'll try to get working on them.

How about having a Trips advisory section or a section where people can ask for advise on differnt roads to ride? I find other peoples opinion very helpful in looking for excursions off of the main roads for discovering amasing and wonderful rides.

I like the idea of a showcase for projects and user space for uploading picutres.

Thanks for the ideas RapidoRaptor, that trip thing would be cool.....do you think adding a "Trip Planner" forum section would do the job, or were you thinking something different?

As a side note Rapido, what do you ride?

 

I think a section on Good rides people would suggest to others but the idea of a Trip planner of is what I was thinking, where someone could ask for good rides say in off of a specific section like I-80 in California or I-70 in Colorado as examples, just to get ideas for where to see sights, eat, camp, ride or whatever.

I currently ride a 2000 Fat Boy that has 43000 miles on it now.

Mongo , how about a "How To" section. It can be things that are common to all types of bikes , and riders , such as proper tire wear , and inflation. Or it can be make , and model specific , such as how to adjust the primary chain tension on a Harley. I know I like to do as much of my tech service as I can , why pay some "stealer" $55 an hour to change my fluids??? With a shop manual , the proper tools, a little elbow grease , and the support from our fellow forum members we can all learn more about how our bikes are put together , maintained, and save money while we do it. I know this is probably what you had in mind with the "Shop Talk" forum , so it may not be such a great idea......

 

I like the Trip Planner idea. If someone knows of a good alternate route off of 80, 35, 70, etc.... some major highway, post it and we can check it out if we happen to make it that way.

Personally, I think you have a good variety of areas, and with the addition of the Trip Planner I would be satisfied. Let's just make better use of what we have. Shop talk would work well for how-to's and that, maybe just set the default to keep the threads out there longer than 30 days.

Hope you all noticed that I set all the default thread views to a LOT longer than 30 days....so they are all showing up.

I have also added the "Trip Planner" forum, and thanks to Rapido...wasn't searching for words when I had to input the description of the forum (the little lettering under the forum name).
