I was just day dreaming about Summer when I started thinking about tunes you like that are good for the road. I've been thinking about buying a portable cd player or mp3 player for the my next bike just to have some tunes on.

So what do you, or would you like to hear when you are riding your scooter?

I guess also, what are your favorite tunes anyway? I'm a classic rock fan myself, but I also listen to jazz, some metal and even country (but I have to have some straw sticking out of my mouth).

Just interested in people's tastes.

IMO, nothing beats some good Metallica or something hard like that. I like hard rock, but then I switch to rap from there. I'm into pretty much everything else, I have always loved music, I would much rather listen to music than watch tv. Typically I won't tune into country unless she's in the car, but for the most part like it all. My daily radio station is Rock 108 here in CR, which is rock all day long, lots 'o Metallica, Tool, Sevendust, etc......

yeah! what Phat-Boy said! I'm at the local hard rock concert hall so much they should rent me a room. My ears are going to be waisted before I'm 50. I like off-beat rif-rap stuff like Unloco, 5-Pointe-O, E-Town Concrete, Mushroomhead, Downthesun, Fear Factory etc. When I want to tone it down a bit I go for Moby, Sarah McLaughlin, Coldplay, Mazzy Star and others.

No rap for me...guess I am tooooooooo old! I listen to Oldies like Bob Seagar and stuff like that. Favorite is "Turn the Page" (BS). On the road with my '86 I had no tunes...would just as soon listen to the wind and the pipes. But now that the geeeezerdom is settin in I am thinkin of a music box. Geeez...that really scares me!

Sober, your only too old if you think it's too loud. Nothing wrong with the older stuff too. It's all about individuality and expression. Music says a lot about who you are, and how you live in my opinion. Some are more laid back, and some are more in your face. Nothing wrong with either.

Oh, and WooHoo!, totally agree on the Metallica!!!!

I agree. Sometimes it is nice and relaxing to listen to nothing but wind and pipes....but sometimes I feel like I need some music in my ear. Whatever it is...it's all about my mood for the day....kinda like how I ride....sometimes nice and slow just puttin' around and sometimes I like to hit the autobahn and open her up. I used to hear rap a lot more before we moved, but that's just city life. Not too bad, some of it....I do like to be called 'big poppa' when I'm on a nice big hog though. LOL.

Like I said, I can listen to almost anything and get some enjoyment out of it....unless it hurts my ears.

I mostly listen to old rock while in the cage or at home. Doors, Rolling Stones, Beatles etc. I don't like hearing another bike with music going when coming into traffic and slow downs. The music doesn't bother me while cruising simnce I can't hear it over the wind and pipes.
Sure am glad I'm not in that snow gong on in the east. Managed to get in a 50 mile loop around here in shirt sleeves and a vest this afternoon. 67F not too bad for February.
Hanfg in there East spring is on its way

Oh yeah WooHoo...remember it like it was yesterday...or was it?

And I agree with you PhatBoy...but still it just never seemed right to have music on the bike...I always said...if'n I wanted music...other than the bike's sweet sound, I would get into the cage and listen...But each to his...or her...own. But now that the years have whittled away...it does sound appealing to have a tune or two for my listening pleasure. Maybe I am just getting tired of hearin my own sour notes...LOL!

I used to lie to people and tell them I liked all kinds of music. I still like old country music, but mostly I listen to Blugrass. Really have a dislike for main stream country. The constant kaboomp kaboomp of the drums drives me nutso.
Give me a hard driving 5 string with a
great fiddle player like Bobby Hicks and I'm in Heaven.
My music has to be unplugged. If you can't play it on my back porch I aint got time fer it

Southern Rock. Skynyrd, Allman Bros., Marshall Tucker Band, and some Country. Can't really handle the hip hop stuff of today. My wife drives me crazy with that stuff.

Southern rocks good for the cage and rap is good for the trash can. But on the sled I like the sound of high compression and cycle shack pipes.
