Default spammers

At least some of the last spam postings were biker related. Why are the spammers becoming more of a problem lately? I understand that the administrators can't catch them fast enough but they (the spammers) seem to be coming out of the woodwork. I just wanted to vent. Thanks for your support.

My personal opinion is that the site went back to a traditional vBulletin layout and registration system. When I owned the site, we had a front end that kinda masked the fact that it was a vBulletin board system that ran the site. Obviously, it didn't take much then to probe a little bit and figure that out....but with this it's obvious right from the get go. Also, it depends on where it's advertised or cross promoted.

It's as annoying to me as you guys, I still come here for the fun of the discussion, but lately all I seem to be doing is playing 'post cop'.

Some of the spammers are funny. They assume we have small packages and can't get them up.

Having the type of BB in the "footer" (powered by...) of the site only helps spammers find this type of board and try to exploite it......seems they are trying........Mom always tried to serve us spam as a kid.........i still can't stand it to this day

I run my own forum with heavy traffic and don't get very much if any most times.

Got to have some moderators online, that makes many pass and go to the next place.
