Default Hello from Scotland

Hello from Scotland. I just found this great site, and had to register. I am currently bikeless following a bit of an unfortunate incident 2 weeks ago which wrote off my FJ1200. As soon as Mr Insurance Man pays out I'm getting a VTR1000 Firestorm. Scotland is a fine place to ride as long as the rain stays away, and is attracting bikers from all over Europe these days. Good roads and not too much traffic which is the problem in England. Good scenery too!

Sorry to hear about your FJ. nice bike that. Hope you're not in too much pain after the accident.

Good luck with the VTR, I like that bike as well. But I did find the front end needed a bit more help with the shocks. although, they may have changed all that since they first came out!

Hi, I'm from North East England, just south of Newcastle, you are right about the traffic problem here, there's just not enough room on the roads with all those cars about.
Riding in Scotland is ace, there are hardley any pot-holes, they seem to look after the roads better there, or is it just that they have less traffic wearing them out?

Default Welcome Scotbiker

Scotbiker, hope you get your new bike soon , I know it must be tough for you to not have a bike to ride. I live here in Texas , and thankfully the weather cooperates pretty much year round. Looking forward to seeing a picture of your new "scooter" when you get it.

Ride SAFE

Thanks for the sympathy everyone. I was really fond of that FJ1200, but I'm really looking forward to the VTR1000. The suspension has been improved, by the way, and the tank range too.
Hey Gill, I don't know about the traffic in the North East, but down south it's murder. I've been on the Edinburgh to Newcastle road a few times to get the ferry. Great road, but so many speed cameras. 2 Fired last time, but no ticket!!
I think the scottish roads are better 'cos there's not so many big trucks on them. You coming up here this summer, mail me and we'll go for a run. Must be great to have decent weather all year round. It's my ambition to bike America sometime, I have loads of relations in North Carolina, and they will lend me a bike.
Enjoy the holiday everyone!!!
