Wink hi guys...any help out there for a lofty brother?

Hi guys,

I'm new to all this lark really, bikes that is, not forums and as the above mentions I suffer from having my head up in the clouds. At 6'11" I'm a little above the national average, but having a love of all things that you can tinker with to make go faster, I'm now wanting to get into bikes.

This 'getting into' bikes also has a deadline. I'm hoping to follow up this year's tour of New Zealand in a camper van with a tour from the East to West coast of the good ol US of A on a bike. So I need to get all licenced up before Christmas ideally, to give me some chance to get in some practice over the spring.

So if anyone out there has anu ideas as to big, suitable bikes, leathers, boots and wotsits then please please help a lil un out of a tight spot.

Cheers guys.

if you are going coast to coast you will want a cruiser.
(With your Height forward controls are a must!)
something with a 5 gal tank so you will fill up less often.
and a windshield that wind and BUGS get to ya after a few hundred miles!
saddle bags will help with some storage there are bags you can add

some states have mandatory helmet laws (like mine NV)

you should try to come here (Las Vegas)and ride rt 66 in AZ on way here
if you can.

I want to ride the coast of OZ one day myself
hope you enjoy your Journey
Take pics and try to route as many "off the hwy"
roads you can to see the real America.
remember its the Journey NOT the destination.
