Thumbs up Just Saying Hi !!

Hi everyone,

My name's Ralphy, and I ride motorcycles, bit like AA this isn't it ?? I live in a village in the county of Essex in the UK, and I ride a Triumph Sprint, 15000 miles a year, winter and summer, ( not that we have much in the way of winter down here, thank goodness ).

I've been riding since 1974 on a variety of Japanese machines and my favourite manafacturer was Kawasaki, until I rode the Triumph that is. I must admit to having owned a CZ once as a commuter machine, wasn't much of a bike, but it was a tough little beggar though.

I run a community in the UK, if anyone is interested in seeing what is happening there, you will find the link in my profile. Anything you don't understand, such as the UK's draconian motorcycle laws, just ask the question and someone will do their best to answer it !!

Ride safe

Ralphy, welcome to the Forum. Nice to see that the Borders aren't really that far apart. How do you like that Trumpet? Rode a Rat Chopper Bonnie for all of 2 hours, damn near killed myself.

Hi Devil Hog,

Mine is one of the new generation Triumphs and a completely different animal to the old vertical twins of the 60's. 900cc across the frame, water cooled triple, 6 speed, half fairing, and enough torque to pull like a train in any gear !!

My personal opinion is that it is the best bike I have ever owned, big, comfortable, reliable and lots of fun and it returns a respectable 50mpg, very important when you are paying the equivalent of $5 per gallon !!

I recently went to have a look at the new Triumph Bonneville America in the local showroom, and I must say I was very impressed with the look of the machine. They will have a test bike available from the end of this month so I guess it would be almost rude not to take advantage !!

Ride safe
