Hi Guys, Gals,

I just found the site, looks good. Been around mainly Harleys for a long tme, presently own 3, my ole 68 Sporty, 88 FXLRCustom, and a custom 92 lowrider I'm looking to sell, miss my 94 RoadKing, should have kept it. Haven't riden too much in the last 5-6 years, just an occasional putt due to my getting all wrapped up in drag racing. Hoping to freshen up the looks of my FXLR soon, been 10 years since I've done anything to it. Looking for the spark!

Jack

Welcome to the boards. What do you race? I used to drag race motorcycles, it's a ton of fun!

Guys, Jack is being modest. He's got an awesome Buick Grand National and is one of the premiere GN guys in the state.

He also runs in the local heads up drag racing class we have at New England Dragway and is the only 6 cylinder who consistently holds his own against the big block Chevy's and small block Ford's on nitrous.

I checked out the website, looks like a mean GN you are running. There were a few of those at the track I raced at, and with some mods they do scoot right along.

Thanks guys, I feel welcomed for sure... Bruce, thanks for turning me onto the site, maybe this will spark me to get my scooter freshened up, 10 years since I put it together. The motor is a 98" motor built 10 years ago. Back then, I made 120 RWHP. Finally ran it at a track a few years back, down on power and a little shakey on the launch, I ran a 12.1. Felt good, but after standing it up on the rear fender, not too good at holeshoting, better at it on the street though. Like Bruce said, I race the old Buick Grand Nationals\ Ttpyes. Lots of fun, they are turbo charged and go like H-ll. I've put the car on the rear bumper almost as many times as my Harleys running 8.90's in the 1\4 as fast as 156mph. Not bad for a 6 cyl.
I'd like to beef up a few parts on the bike so I could really hang it out, I changed over to a chain drive long ago, after breaking 2 belts, I'm good there but need a new chain, better clutch setup, been thinking about a new fxr frame with a mild rake and stretch along with stretched tank. Lots to consider this winter, am sure with some help I can put something together. Need to sell my 92 first to get some money together for the project.
off to work..
