Default ripped off bad!

hi everybody, bad dog from michigan, former leather shop owner, custom painter and airbrusher and customiser of all thats cool. biker for many years. but enough about me, here's the dirt!
I advertised my 99 custom fatboy on hdtrader (great site) 3 days later a man from hawley pa. called and got more info and pics, says he owns 5 other hd's and is a fan a good painting..anyways he agrees to purchase it and we agree on a price ,after a long talk about ways to make this sell happen and the transfer of $$ and the bike ,we decide to use a common trucking service and there cod program for the $ owed and the freight chgs. freight carges are $480.00 for the 700 mile trip ,he agrees to this and I spend a day crating it up and shipping it out and setting it up to his delivery date (march 6th) I follow up with all info needed such as tracking and call ahead to his chosen drop point...thats where it started to go bad, mr. Carl Herrmann the purchaser is contacted by the freight co. on the 5th and says he has the cert. funds...the next day (his chosen date) he's not answering any calls from me and only one call from the freight co. gets answered and they are told "he will call them right back" never happened..moving forward I continue to try to contact mr herrmann but no answer until 1:55 pm on the 7th and I got thru by blocking my phone number. carl herrmann says he's on his way to get the bike at the freight shop all is ok!!!! not!!! never showed never called ,when I finally got ahold of the man (I use that lightly) he says sue me!! so this is my story of how a general construction contractor from hawley pa. by the name of CARL HERRMANN robbed me of over $1100.00 for shipping both directions and materials for the box not to mention my day of labor!! do real bikers need losers like this giving us the fear of selling our bikes,I say no ,,bikers are a breed of people who watch out for one another and respect each other not screw each other....what do you think???

So do what he wants you to do and sue him. Contact the site you are selling your bike on and tell them about it to. If this is the way he conducts his own business then I dought that he will be in business very much longer.

What a LOOSER

I like your your comments, the suing part isnt a good option do to the fact its a small claims matter and would be held in his venue 700mi. away. Im not happy with the monitary loss but even more with the idea of this man (used lightly) putting the screws to someone after a good faith agreement,it was his comment that if I screwed him on the deal him and 4 buddies would come here and kick my %*& ... pretty bold not knowing me personally. but Im a passive till conflict enters my realm. and you are correct,if he conducts his business like this he is in for a rude awaking....personally I wouldnt sleep at night doing that to another person... hopefully he wakes up and thinks what it would be with the roles reversed, but some people are born losers!!! the slinky thing I'd love to see but maybe starting at the top story of the empire state bldg.

The people in NE PA aren't right in the head.....just my experience. He's not too far North of here if you do need any help.

It sucks that there are so many good ways to sell a bike, but the best way is still locally where you can meet up and make sure everything is legit.

You said he was a General Contractor, if this is true, take out a few ads in his local newspaper explaining your situation to his potential customers. It won't get your money back, it may get satisfaction, or others who he screwed, which could turn into class action. (add up all the little screws into one big one)
At any rate people who conduct business this way need to be shut down. Good luck to you.

Ive been a harley man for years and painted over a hundred bikes and even served the cause by selling biker gear and leather for over 4 years...real bike people are good people...hey this guy lost out on one hell of a good deal on my bike anyway...HIS LOSS but hey he doesnt deserve to ride a pink yamaha razz (sorry to anybody with one) let alone a custom fatboy.

you can teach an old dog a new trick but you cant teach a dumb dog nothing
