Exclamation Road Star--HOT rear pipe? fix?

Hey everyone out there--my yamaha roadstar [yr 2000] rear pipe is actually causing blisters on my leg! New slip-ons no major work--head pipes still have the heat shields. Now I know that hot weather brings out the worst in the rear cylinders of big V-twins, but this is waaay HOT. Anybody know of a fix for this--HELP!

Excessive heat is usually a sign of a lean condition. Time for a carb tune-up.
