Default S & S carb jets

Hi, I have an 87' sportster 883 and I ordered a S&S carb E, does anybody have any tips about what size jets are a good starting point. it has drag pipes with 4" baffles if this helps in the determination. the stock carb just plain gave out. Thanks Wofat

Jetting depends on a lot of things such as altitude you live in. What I would do is spend 50 or $75 and put it on a duno and let them tell you what the best will be.

S$S ,or whoever you got the carb from should be able to give you baseline settings for your bike. There might even be some literature included with your carb to give you starting points or may already be close from the factory. If not call Tim at Barnyard customs in Hopkinton and he can give you pointers as well as dyno service if you want to go that route. He`s at 315-328-4315.He`s a half hour from you.Toby
